Who should be my witness if I am a UK national, and I live in Jersey? - UK Deed Poll Office

Who should be my witness if I am a UK national, and I live in Jersey?

If you live in Jersey, slightly different rules will apply to your Deed Poll.  If you need to update your passport by going to the Passport Office in Jersey, they may require you to have your signature witnessed by a solicitor or Notary Public.  You should take your Deed Poll to a solicitor or Notary Public before you have signed or dated the Deed Poll, and ask them to witness your signature.  Please be aware that the solicitor or Notary Public will charge a fee for witnessing your signature, so we advise that you try to find the best deal.

Alternatively, you can update your passport online at HM Passport Office, who do not insist that a solicitor or Notary Public is your witness.  For more information, please go to the Deed Poll Information list at the top left of this page and click on Signing/Witnessing/Execution.
